The SF Cooking Project have given me the opportunity to learn and broaden my food knowledge. I had the pleasure of going to two classes with my Guardian Scholars Program. The volunteers for the cooking class were really helpful and assisted us in make delicious dishes. My favorite dish that we made was an Apple crumble for dessert during one of the classes. It was fantastic and a great hands on experience. I will be going to the classes again and again because of how much fun I had.

It has been such a gift to witness our students get excited about cooking and be able to take away skills they can apply to their everyday life. Some of our student may not have had exposure to basic cooking skills, so it has been invaluable to have students gain life skills they can take with them to help them be self-sufficient.

Attending the cooking classes every month as helped me learn more about where our food comes from and the influence it has on taste and texture. I also, learned basic tips that makes a big difference when cooking, like how to hold a knife properly, or how to cut a tomato etc.  I also liked the feeling of being in a professional kitchen! I felt inspired!
